Introduction to the Department
The Department was established in 2002, aiming to foster professionals in the Japanese language.
Multiple admission opportunities: college entrance
examination (entrance by application and recommendation), admission via recommendation
for students from tracks of the technologicaland vocational school system.
The Department of Applied Japanese has passed the
“2007&2013 University Academic DepartmentEvaluations” by the Higher Education and
Accreditation Council of Taiwan.
Departmental Mission & Objective
Undergraduate Education
To equip students with effective skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing: passing the first and/or second level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
To equip students with practical and essential skills needed in translation, Japanese language education, being a tour guide or a secretary in a business environment.
To make students familiar with Japanese thoughts, humanities, culture, and communication skills in preparation for future career development.
To equip students with skills needed for multimedia, computer and application of software in digitalized language instruction.
To promote students’ team spirit and cooperation and innovative and creative attitudes for future success.
Collaborative Programs with Local Businesses
The Department has set up practical training programs for all students programs
with businesses including E-DA Skylark Hotel, Talee's Department Store, China Times,
Association of Flower Arrangement of Kaohsiung, Tokaido Japanese School,
Hanshin Arena Shopping Plaza, and Daiso Kogyo Corporation.Career Outlook
